Historical Tidbit: The Candler Art Gallery makes its? home in the first General Store in Downtown Camrose. Built in 1904 it was Sampson?s General Store until 1908, then the Flag Store until 1919 and finally several hardware stores. It has been restored to its original front though the Main Street Alberta Program.

Donalda Gallery for the Arts

The Gallery offers a breath-taking view of the Meeting Creek valley which is becoming well known to artists, photographers, and tourists for it’s variety of scenic coulees and appealing hills, valleys, and ponds. Upstairs the Donalda Gallery features work by professional, emerging, and beginning artists from Donalda and surrounding communities. On this floor you will also find class rooms with instructors such as local water colourist Glenda Beaver who is well know as an art teacher in many rural Alberta centers. The basement space is nicely adapted to promoting the contemporary artistic viewpoints of Contemporary Art. Hours: May, June, September, Oct – 11 AM to 5 PM Sat & Sun.
